Valves QC Inspection

Veriquality provide highly experienced mechanical inspectors to perform testing and quality checks of valves around Asia. We offer a comprehensive range of inspection services which we tailor to meet the requirements of individual clients.

Why Quality Control Is Critical for Valves?

Media flow and hydraulic processes are heavily dependent on the quality and performance of valves. Failures in a piping system caused by faulty or malfunctioning valves can incur significant and costly damages. In some cases, these valve failures may even risk catastrophic property damage, as well as injury or death to workers. Because of the critical role valves have in complex and intricate processes, proper inspecting and testing before shipment should an essential part of a risk mitigation plan in global supply chain.

How can you benefit from our valves quality control inspection services

  •
  • Ensure valves meet global industry standards to avoid rejection or penalties
  • Cut defects, leaks, and malfunctions to lower maintenance costs and improve operational reliability
  • Protect brand reputation by preventing system failures, leakage hazards, and negative client feedback
  • Optimize production efficiency by early flaw detection, reducing rework, scrap, and downtime
  • Enhance competitiveness with high-precision, leak-free valves that meet customer specifications
  • Mitigate safety risks and liability risks via comprehensive checks of materials, seals, and functionality

Valves Inspection: A Simplified Checklist

So how do we perform quality inspections on valves? Veriquality inspectors not only verify the mass production craftmanship and finishing of your valves against your Acceptable Quality Limits (AQL), but also conduct on-site tests to evaluate their mechanical and physical properties, as well as compliance with relevant regulations and your valve quality standards.

Appearance & Surface

Check for scratches, deformation, cracks, burrs, dents, rust, or coating defects.

Threads & Dimensions

Inspect threads for misalignment or damage, ensure all dimensions meet drawings and industry  standards.

Sealing Integrity

Examine sealing area for wear, scratches, or pits; use soap bubble or gauge to detect leaks.

Function & Operation

Test open/close for multi cycles to check smoothness, no jamming or improper positioning and evaluate consistent performance.

Performance

Perform pressure test (air/hydrostatis) for shell, seat, backseats to verify no leakage under rated pressure.

Marking & Assembly

Confirm correct labeling, model, and material; verify proper assembly of components including bonnet, stem, handle and actuator.

Main Onsite Tests We Perform for Valves Inspection

onsite tests • instant reporting

Positive Material Identification (PMI) testing for valves is a quick on-site non-destructive inspection. Using portable analyzers, we verify the material grade of valve bodies, stems, flanges and fasteners to confirm they meet required specifications, avoiding material mix-up and ensuring safety and performance.

NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) for valves is a set of on-site inspections used to detect surface and internal flaws without damaging the product. Common methods include PT, MT, UT, and RT, helping identify cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion or other defects in valve bodies, seats and welds, ensuring structural integrity, pressure resistance and safe operation.

Pressure (Leakage) testing for valves is an on-site functional inspection that verifies sealing performance under specified pressure. We apply air or water pressure to check for external body leaks and internal seat leakage, ensuring valves meet tightness requirements and perform reliably under working conditions.

Torque Test is to measure the required operating torque of valves to ensure smooth opening and closing, and verifying actuator performance in accordance with manufacturer or client specifications.

Flow check for valves is an on-site functional test that verifies smooth operation and correct flow control. Inspectors test opening, closing and throttling actions to ensure unobstructed flow, proper sealing, and stable performance under operating conditions.

We check nameplates, technical drawings, material certificates, test reports, and compliance records to confirm document consistency and compliance with valve specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements, ensuring traceability and quality accountability.

Valves QC FAQS

1. What is included in a standard valve inspection?
A standard valve inspection covers quantity verification, visual & dimensional checks, operational function tests, pressure (leakage) testing, PMI material verification, NDT (e.g., PT/MT/UT) for flaws, packaging check, and document review of certificates and test records.
We follow international and industry standards, including ASME B16.34, EN 12516, API 602, API 600, GB/T 12224, ISO 15848, and customer-specific specifications to ensure compliance with global market requirements.
It depends on the valve quantity, type, and test scope. A single valve inspection usually takes 30–90 minutes; batch inspections (100+ units) may take 1–3 days, with a detailed report delivered within 24 hours after testing.

While next-day inspections are possible where our inspectors are located, we recommend booking at least three business days in advance. Early booking ensures proper scheduling and adequate preparation for the inspection.

For valves inspection in China, our service fee starts at USD220/man-day all inclusive for most manufacturing hubs.  For valves QC services in India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Pakistan, Pakistan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Phillipines, Cambodia, our service fee is US$200/man-day plus travel costs ranging from US$20 to US$50 in most cases.

Absolutely! We recommend QC inspection on every shipment because even failure of a single piece may cause significant loss or harm to workers.

With our comprehensive and photo-included reports, you can make the decision on whether to accept or reject the goods; or request the factory to rework the batch. A followup re-inspection would be recommended after rework if the initial inspection inspection fails.

Common NDT methods for valves include PT (penetrant testing) for surface flaws, MT (magnetic particle testing) for ferrous material surface flaws, UT (ultrasonic testing) for internal flaws, and RT (radiographic testing) for weld defects.
