Check production status and quantity verification
Review production progress for schedule lags, verify finished quantity and packed quantity in line with the purchase order.
Verify fabric, color and construction details
Compare the bulk goods against the PO requirements, tech packs, lab dips and/or approved sample to ensure conformity in fabric, color, and construction details (including stitch density, stitch type, bartacking points, etc.) . Special tool like Pantone card may also be used to ensure the products align with your required color.
Measure size dimensions & test fitting
Lay the garment flat on a measurement table and measure all critical dimensions using a calibrated measuring tape. Compare measurements against the size specification chart, checking multiple sizes and multiple units per size. Documents any deviations outside the stated tolerance.
Complete fit assessment via fitting the finished garments on mannequins or real people to check how they look.
Inspect workmanship and finishing
Examine the overall workmanship on the randomly selected samples to pinpoint cosmetic non-conformities on fabric quality, such as holes, pilling, snags, uneven dyeing. Thoroughly inspect all stitching and seams to flag visible defects like skipped stitches, broken threads, puckering, and uneven seam allowances.
Check embroidery and print
Check the conformity of embroidery and print against client requirement; identify quality issues including missing EMB or print, misplacement, skewing, loose stitches or bad printing.
Conduct relevant field tests
Perform all relevant and applicable tests and measurement, including color fastness check, seam strength test (pull test), fabric GSM, metal detection testing, barcode reading check, and smell check.
Inspect trims & accessories and validate functionality
Confirm buttons, zippers, snaps, rivets and hooks are securely fastened, consistent with approved samples and fully operational. Conduct repeated zipper pull tests; check button fastness, as well as snap closing strength.
Review product labeling and marking
Inspect completeness, placement and legibility of all required labels: market-compliant care instruction labels, fiber content, origin, size and brand labels together with statutory regulatory marks.
Verify assortment, packaging and packing
Verify that packaging complies with specifications, including hangtags, polybag dimensions and thickness, tissue paper, folding standards, size stickers, and carton packing configuration. Confirm carton size, weight, and shipping markings. Ensure the carton packing ratio (size and color assortment per carton) aligns with the approved packing list.
